School Conferences

School Conference bookings open at 9:00 am tomorrow morning, September 19th

Conferences are scheduled for Thursday evening (4:40 to 8:15) and Friday (8:30 – 1:30). Grades 4-6 conferences are 15min each, Grade 7/8 will be 10min each. Grade 7/8 will be joint with Humanities and Smath – you DO NOT need to book a separate conference.

It is important to note that Thursday evening will be exclusively in-person and Friday morning will be blended. Please indicate if you would like to be at the school or if you would prefer a virtual conference.

Login to your MyCBE parent account to book a time. We will not be able to accommodate walk-in conversations.

School Council will be selling ice cream snacks out of The Husky House on Thursday evening (cash only)!

Google Accounts

Across the CBE, there have been issues with creating new Google accounts for students. We are working with our IT department to fix this.

This week we started seeing issues in Google Classroom with Parent Guardian Emails. Some parents have been receiving emails from Google Classroom saying “Your Guardian status has been removed.” In all cases that we have seen so far, the Parent is still setup in PowerSchool as the legal guardian of the student. This is only a Google Classroom issue. We are working with ITS on it.

Please be patient as this gets resolved at a system level.

Attendance/Lates

As we learn how to transition between spaces in our buildings, teachers have provided a grace period for students before completing attendance. You may receive a notification from PowerSchool if your child is not yet in the room when attendance is completed. This may be changed to late upon their arrival, so please provide us a few moments to adjust before contacting the office. Official absence notifications will be sent out at 10:30.

Instruction begins at 9:15am. Doors are opened at 9:05am. It is expected that students are in their classrooms ready for learning at 9:15am.

Grade 7/8 only:

We ring a warning bell at 12:30pm and another at 12:35pm for students to be in their classrooms ready to learn at 12:40pm. Many students are choosing to leave campus and returning late.

If you would like to donate non-perishable food items to help us provide snacks for students, please bring them into the front office. Thank you for your support!

School Council Update – September 2026

Update from Evanston Heights School Council

New school, a new council, and new opportunities to support our students. We are working hard to set things up behind the scenes.

Meet the Board:

Co-chairs: Leighanne Rees and April Hallikas

Vice Chair: [vacant position]

Secretary: Christine Spencer

Treasurer: Randi Beck

Key Communicator: [vacant position]

Volunteer Coordinators: Jennie Au-Yeung and Janice Cooper

Volunteer opportunities:

There will be several volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Look for opportunities in the classroom and school events, field trips, and helping in the learning commons and office spaces. There will also be other events hosted by School Council that would love volunteers as well.

Our first fundraiser event: Ice cream sales at conferences.

Our school council needs your help! In order to help and support our students through enrichment activities and items, we need to fundraise for these moments. School council will be selling ice cream snacks at the Husky House during conferences on Thursday September 24th from 4:45pm-8:15pm. Cash only. Come out and support this fundraising event!
